The Young Academy of Sciences (YASS) comprises two main Summits and six Sub-Conferences. Around three hundred young scientists, leaders in science and technology, industry professionals, investors from Hong Kong and other parts of the world, as well as senior government officials in Hong Kong, are expected to join the Summits. The first Summit was held at the Charles K Kao Auditorium in the Hong Kong Science Park on 4th December 2023. The second Summit will take place at the same venue on 13th December 2024.

Six Sub-Conferences, each targeting a hundred audience, will be held separately to extend the impact of the main Summits. The conference topics will be tailored to technology industries with an edge to develop in Hong Kong, as outlined in the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Development Blueprint.  The Sub-Conferences I-III were held from March to September 2024, while the Sub-Conferences IV-VI are tentatively scheduled from February to June 2025. To extend its reach, the YASS will be live-streamed to the audience in Hong Kong.
